Find Out What We're Doing

Quilts of Valor

Quilts of Valor’s journey home ceremony was an incredible event that I attended as a volunteer through Mission United. It was the second annual event held in Broward County and I was personally touched to witness such a moving and heartfelt ceremony.

It was also a wonderful surprise to see my friend and one of the honorees Retired Colonel Connie Christiansen.

Transitioning Warriors was able to meet and honor veterans of all ages from all services, and we networked with many community leaders including the local directors of the United Way and Mission United.

To close off the event, we attended a wonderful reception at the local VFW right after, and continued to connect and network with so many proud veterans that are excited to learn more and support our vision!

Miami Dolphins
Vet Day

Vet Day gave recognition to all veterans by reciting the National Anthem with a performance by Color Guard. Kelley Rheault of The Transitioning Warrior helped proudly walk the stadium sized flag to center field with fellow veterans, hailing it for all to see before kickoff! Miami Dolphins supplied our veterans with food, music, pregame festivities, merchandise, and a private suite.

Thanks Dolphins for the generosity to our Vets! It was a great way to support our military men and women.

Honor Flight

The honor flight is a volunteer and Spirit airlines funded event that flies our military folk to memorials in Washington and back with the greeting of thousands of patriotic Americans. For some this was there first nice greeting back from wars such as Vietnam.
